Motorcycle Collisions in Dade and Broward Counties Result in Minor Injuries

By: Lisa Vari, the Biker Chick Lawyer

Yesterday, Tuesday February 24, two unrelated motorcycle accidents occured in South Florida. Both collisions, which occurred in the early afternoon, caused some delays in both Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, but fortunately for all involved, neither accident resulted in any serious injuries.

The first incident occurred in Broward County along State Road 7 just North of Griffin Road in Davie. The cause of the accident up to this point is unknown, but as a result, the driver of the motorcycle was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The second motorcycle related incident of the day was a crash involving a motorcycle in Miami-Dade County. The crash occurred on the southbound lanes of the Palmetto Expressway at 122nd Street near Hialeah. As a result of the collision the motorcyclist sustained some minor injuries.

After the collision, reports indicate that a group of commuters got out of their cars to help the biker, whose bike and helmet lay several feet away from him. According to the spokesman for the Florida Highway Patrol, the biker was taken to the hospital in order to treat the minor injuries he sustained.

All of us here at the Biker Chick Lawyer are extremely glad that no one involved in these incidents was seriously injured, but we remind all drivers to please be mindful of motorcycles! Bikes aren't as easy to see as cars, so before switching lanes, look twice so you can save a life.
