MIA Customs Agent Killed in South Florida Motorcycle Crash

By: Lisa Marie Vari, the Biker Chick Lawyer

Marc Robert Izquierdo, a federal officer working at Miami International Airport for the Department of Customs and Border Protection, was killed in a motorcycle crash late Saturday night.

According to reports, Izquierdo was merging onto the Interstate 75 (I-75) ramp from the Northbound lanes on the Palmetto Expressway when he lost control of his motorcycle. Upon losing control he crashed into the metal guardrails along the entrance to I-75.

Florida Highway Patrol investigators believe that the crash was due to the fact that Izquierdo was traveling at a high rate of speed. Izquierdo was decapitated during the crash and pronounced dead at the scene, investigators said.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Izquierdo family during this extremely difficult time. Through this tragedy we as bikers are reminded of the importance of always driving within the speed limit. Our lives and the lives of our fellow bikers and drivers depend on it.
